NEW DELHI: Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Haryana RERA), Gurugram bench has granted an automatic four-month extension to completion timelines of eligible registered real estate projects, citing the impact of the prevailing situation in West Asia on global supply chains.
The order applies to projects registered with H-RERA Gurugram whose completion date, revised completion date or extended completion date falls on or after February 28, 2026.
The authority said the West Asia situation has adversely affected global supply chains, resulting in shortage of construction materials. It has been treated as “war” for the purpose of invoking the force majeure clause by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance.
H-RERA Gurugram said no separate application will be required from promoters to avail the extension.
The benefit will be confined only to projects registered on or before July 31, 2026, and where extension or continuation is granted on or before July 31, 2026.
The order has been issued under Sections 6, 7(3), 34(f), 37 and 83 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, pursuant to the advisory issued by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on July 31, 2026.
Pradeep Aggarwal, founder & chairman, Signature Global (India), said the geopolitical situation in West Asia has severely disrupted global supply chains, leading to acute shortages of vital construction materials.
“By recognizing this as a force majeure event, the authority has shown a deep understanding of the unprecedented challenges currently burdening the real estate sector. This timely relief provides the industry with crucial breathing room to navigate these external shocks without compromising on quality or project viability,” he said.
