NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) has asked 470 complainants to submit updated bank account details so that money recovered from promoters through recovery certificates can be transferred to their accounts.
The authority said that in several cases, the recovered amount could not be paid to complainants because the required bank account documents had not been submitted.
According to UP-RERA, the complainants in 470 cases have not submitted updated bank account details through an affidavit. As a result, transfer of recovered money to their bank accounts is pending.
The authority said the complainants have already been informed several times through their registered email addresses to provide the required bank details.
UP-RERA has asked the complainants to submit correct and updated bank account details through a notarised affidavit on a ₹10 stamp paper at the earliest.
Complainants whose cases are related to districts in the National Capital Region have been asked to submit their notarised affidavits at its regional office in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Complainants from districts outside NCR have been asked to submit their affidavits at its office in Lucknow.
The authority said the bank details mentioned in the affidavit must be correct, active and updated to avoid issues in transferring the recovered amount.
UP-RERA said the transfer process will move forward once complainants provide the updated bank account details.
