NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP-RERA) organized its weekly ‘RERA Samvaad’, a virtual interaction aimed at resolving homebuyers’ concerns and guiding them toward legal remedies.
The session, chaired by Sanjay Bhoosreddy, chairman, UP-RERA saw participation from 24 homebuyers who had registered in advance. Buyers from Dubai, NCR, Ranchi, and Prayagraj raised issues primarily related to possession delays, where promoters failed to hand over apartments despite substantial payments made.
Officials explained the legal options available, including filing complaints with RERA, initiating action against defaulting promoters, and using the online platform for grievance redressal.
UP-RERA chairman stressed the importance of such platforms in strengthening consumer confidence, stating that the authority’s objective extends beyond dispute settlement to promoting transparency and accountability in the sector.
“RERA Samvaad helps us directly engage with consumers, ensure timely resolution, and create awareness so that such issues are minimized in the future,” Bhoosreddy said. He assured buyers that their complaints would be taken up on priority and strict action would be taken against errant promoters.
UP RERA has so far organized 4,742 Samvaad sessions, with fresh sessions scheduled every Saturday to continue its outreach to homebuyers.
