SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta on Thursday directed the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau to provide relevant documents relating to all Joint Development Agreement real estate projects by the state’s Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA).
Both the agencies have been given a 15 day deadline to submit the details.
The order has been issued to investigate suspected irregularities related to the violation of Section 118 of the Himachal Pradesh Tenancy and Land Reforms Act, 1972. The CS has written a letter to the Director General of Vigilance in this regard.
According to the official, there is a speculation of irregularities in certain land agreements between farmers from Himachal Pradesh and non-agriculturists.
In a letter to the DG, it was mentioned that the CS had earlier sought information and documents on multiple occasions. The RERA had not provided them with the required documents despite repeated reminders.
According to the order, the vigilance has been directed to find out whether the authority has carried out its duties while examining the financial capabilities and revenue records of the promoter as per the RERA Act or not.
